BLAST (Babysitter Lessons And Safety Training)
with Infant CPR

BLAST (Babysitter Lessons And Safety Training) is to help you succeed as a babysitter.  This course is designed for teenagers 12-18, and includes an Infant CPR certification.

Length: 5-6 hours (can be split over multiple days)
Cost: $80 per student


A certificate of completion will be given after fulfilling the following requirements:
-Participate in all required activities and classroom sessions.
-Demonstrate a basic knowledge of key concepts and activities during Skill Assessments.

*This certificate is separate from the Infant CPR certification, but offered along with this particular course.

An Infant CPR certification will be given after completing a final exam with a 
passing grade of 80% or higher. The Certificate is good for 2 years and comes from the Emergency Care & Safety Institute (ECSI) and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS). Issued by an approved ECSI instructor. 
*The CPR certification is separate from BLAST, but offered along with this particular course.

-Basic First Aid & Emergencies: Calling 911, CPR, Choking, breathing difficulties, diarrhea, minor scrapes, burns, & cuts

Infant CPR

-Introduction to Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
-Scene Size-up, legal aspects, prevention of disease transmission
-Sudden Illnesses: Heart attack, cardiac arrest, fainting, stroke, seizures, shock
-Performing CPR
-Compression only CPR
-Airway obstructions
